Full-time job in Beijing
Our team is currently seeking a native English speaker who can bring their expertise and enthusiasm to our editorial department. This role will involve editing and refining a variety of English publications, which have been translated from Chinese. We are seeking a meticulous professional who can ensure that each piece is not only free from errors but also written in a compelling and idiomatic English style.
Beyond editing, this role also involves providing internal training on best editorial practices, English usage, and Western cultures. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to take on additional editorial tasks under the guidance of the director of the Translation and Editorial Department.
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in editing, publishing, or English language, or will bring at least two years of experience in English editing, writing, or Chinese-English translation. Key qualities we are looking for include professional writing and editing skills, a meticulous approach to work, and a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with computers, an ability to work collaboratively within a team, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality work within tight deadlines are also essential. Proficiency in Chinese is advantageous, and experience in a publishing-related field is a plus.
As part of our team, you will contribute to book and multimedia projects aimed at both China's internal market and the broader global market. We also offer the exciting prospect of free training courses on the Chinese language and culture, which you will be able to take part in alongside other international staff at our parent company, the China International Communications Group.
