Beijing: As Internet access continues to grow in China, a growing number of older adults is now online, according to a recent report on China's Internet development.

The report, published by the China's Internet network information center, found that in December of last year, around 26.3 percent of the total online population in China had 50 or more, While the figure in March was approximately 16.9 percent.

According to the report, people in their 30 years reported around 20.5 percent of Chinese Internet users and those of the 20s and 40s accounted for 17.8 percent and 18.8 percent of the total, respectively.

The Chinese number Internet users reach 989 million by the end of last year, an increase of 85.4 million from March 2020, according to the report.
