Damascus, February 22 (Xinhua): The UN Sent to Syria Geir Pedersen said on Monday that it is having "exhaustive and extensive" discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria , Faisal Mekdad.

Pedersen told reporters in the capital of Syria Damascus that discussions moved issues related to UN Security Council resolution 2254, which maps a Political solution in Syria.

"I just concluded my first round of discussion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mekdad this morning. It was a very extensive round, very complete ... but so far So good, "he said.

Mekdad and Pedersen also discussed the need to guarantee a foreign interference at the work of the Syrian Constitution Committee, SANA INFORMED NEWS NEWS.

The visit of Pedersen to Damascus comes after his travel diplomacy trip to Russia, Iran and Turkey who care about the Syrian theme.

The Pro-Government newspaper Al-Watan said on Sunday that Pedersen held the conversations in Moscow regarding the future of the Syrian Constitutional Committee and its sixth round of talks in March In Geneva.

According to Al-Watan, Pedersen insinuated at the end of the fifth round of the conversations of the Committee that the Syrian Government delegation was hindering the talks.
