Some parts of Gansu and Inner Mongolia will be reached by sandstorms, said the center.

The center has advised the public to take precautions against the floating sand and dust, and suggested that drivers prepare for poor visibility.

China has a four-level color-coded" target="_BLANK">climate alert system for sandstorms, with red that represents the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
