Beijing, September 6 (Xinhua) - Chinese authorities have requested rigorous measures against floods along the Yangtze River, since water levels continue to increase after heavy Rainy, the Ministry of Water Resources said on Monday.

The water flow in the tank of three gorges has increased rapidly, reaching 54,000 cubic meters per second from 2 pm Monday.

The ministry said it is maintaining its response at level IV, and has requested more anti-flood measures in the reservoir of three gorges and other main projects throughout from the river.

China has an emergency response system with four-level flood control, with level I being the most serious. EndItem
