Beijing - Beijing has launched a platform tracking line to strengthen oversight of imported food cold chain through COVID-19 pandemic, local authorities have said.

Producers and marketers of frozen meat imported aquatic products in Beijing are required to register on the platform, according to a circular jointly issued by the municipal administration for regulation of the market and the office of the municipal trade.

These companies must source Up November 1, circulations and other trace data for imported frozen meat and aquatic products to the platform. Products must be labeled with tracking codes generated by the corresponding platform.

Food companies should not buy, sell or process data archiving products tracking on the platform, said the municipal administration for regulation of the market.

Customers can use WeChat or Alipay mini-programs on their phones to scan the tracking codes on product packages or freezers in markets, obtaining information quality assurance and tracking data for imported frozen meat and aquatic products that are about to buy.

relevant government departments in Beijing will step up supervision and inspection efforts, and expand product coverage tracking platform.
